2005 Mustang shifter bezel installation…?
How do I install this? Do I take the plastic one off then it slips in? Or does it go over the original one? Thanks!
The shifter bezel is a square piece of plastic, with four tabs that hang down. Pop the old one off, and stick the new one in it's place. They just pop on and off. You may need a small screwdriver to get one corner to pop up, then remove by hand.

There are very few individually replaceable parts on the Mustang shifter. I assume you mean the almost square chrome piece around the base of the shift handle? It has four tabs, two on the left side and two on the right side-located about 1/4 inch from the corners. Start pulling up at one of the corners gently, a lid from a cheap bic pen can be used to start it going(a metal object may damage the plastic). Then work your way around both directions. Once it is off you can compare it to the new one to see if it is a straight swap. If so,the new one will just pop on using light pressure. Is this an aftermarket bezel you are trying to put on? If you are trying to replace more than that it will require removing the console and shifter assembly. If you can link a picture it would help to clarify since the names of parts can be misleading sometimes!Hope this helps!
