I’ve just sent you a private message. But don’t worry about corruption, it is out there but I have dealings with officials nearly every day and I’ve only been stopped for an “infraction” 4 times… no bribes paid yet though

Well certainly the border between Honduras and Nicaragua has a well deserved bad reputation for corruption but visiting these countries is a wonderful experience and this wouldn’t put me off travelling. I’ve been to over 40 countries and I’m always amazed at just how welcoming and friendly people are to me, these border officials were definately an exception.

I have to confess …
I have to confess that I did edit out some very embarrassing attempts at Spanish on my part, and a couple of minor tantrums too. The beauty of editing videos is you can paint a slightly different picture… the border “negociation” took over 3 hours but I’m glad I refused to part with the cash. I’m sure that paying the bribes makes it more difficult for the next poor bugger who grabs their attention.
