Want to know a good cleaner for exhaust pipes and engine chrome on motorcycles, and where can I get it????
I agree, I use mother’s polish. Works awesome!!!!!!!!!!! Mother’s in general is a really good product line in my opinon. I haven’t found it to be too expensive, and it is easy to find at any local parts store like Parts America, Parts Plus, etc also at stores like Wal-Mart and K-Mart too. Good luck! By the way, make sure that the parts are not overly warm when you use it, and have lot’s of spare cotton cloth’s on hand! Have fun!

Mothers works great but takes way to much work and it is only good on one part of your bike. Get Knob Polish from Shtuff For Bikers. Best stuff I ever used!

On May 12, 2009, I published my first article as your Baltimore Motorcycle Travel Examiner: “Hey Baltimore, Welcome to the Ride!” Since then, I’ve published 81 other articles that have been viewed over 75,000 times!

Writing this column has been a wonderful experience for me. I’ve corresponded with a lot of good people and I’ve made quite a few new friends. John and Monica Tartufo introduced me to Steve Wallach and ETA Travel’s Motorcycle Cruises. These good folks inspired an entire series of articles, including “Motorcycle Cruises, Take Your Motorcycle on a Caribbean Cruise” and “ETA Travel and the History of Motorcycle Cruising.” A fellow RiderCoach told me about the Ephrata First Sunday Breakfast, where I met Merv Hill, a great guy and the President of the Ephrata American Legion Post #429. Grant Parsons, editor of American Motorcyclist Magazine and his assistant, Nora McDonald read, enjoyed and reprinted my daughter Lauren’s article “Freedom, You’re the Passenger” in their magazine. I will forever be grateful for the confidence they helped instill in Lauren! Michael D’Elia of BikerHiWay and Vance Lane of Time Rider, Schtuff for Bikes have been instrumental in providing test products for several articles. I’ve also had a lot of support from other Motorcycle Examiner’s, including: Mark Poesch, the DC Motorcycle Travel Examiner, Patty Davis, the National Motorcycle Travel Examiner and Ken Bingenheimer, the National Motorcycle Examiner.

However, mostly, I’d like to thank you, my readers. Without you, my work would have no purpose. Your feedback, comments and loyalty truly make my efforts worthwhile.

As a small token of my appreciation, I’ve teamed with Vance Lane of the “Time Rider, Schtuff for Bikes” website to provide my readers 15% off the price of any products on the Time Rider website! This discount is valid for the remainder of 2009. To receive the discount, use the Coupon Code “BaltoMCTvlr” when checking out on the Time Rider site. Thanks to Vance for his generosity and thanks again to you, my loyal readers.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I touched my leg on my boyfriend’s motorcycle chrome exhaust and it’s been peeling for the past couple of day and now u just see bare flesh.. any ideas?
cold water is the best first aid when you burn yourself – 20 minutes under the tap is ideal. NEVER ice or vinegar or milk or butter or mustard or toothpaste or sunscreen or semen or vaseline or tomatoes or vanilla extract or yogurt or sour cream or egg white or lavender oil or cocoa butter – not until the skin is fully healed! ignore anyone who advises any of these! i would advise that you cover the burnt area with sterile paraffin wax or aqueous cream bp. (check the links below and see if you can find a local equivalent) cover the burnt area in paraffin wax after cleaning and removing any burst blisters – these are just sites of infection and will take longer to heal. wash and reapply every 4-6 hours – cover with cling wrap if you wish to cover with clothes – this will stop your clothes getting covered with paraffin and maintains the burn. cling wrap alone is ok if you can’t get hold of any paraffin. it also acts as a protective artificial skin – helping retain moisture and protect from further damage and pain. cling wrap is cheap and clean off the roll. in Australia ambulances often use this when someone has been burnt. paraffin creates a seal stopping water leaving the body and reduces pain as it protects sensitised nerves. the paraffin imitates the natural oils secreted by the skin. skin cells are better able to multiply and regenerate with this treatment. pain is also helped. make sure you buy plenty of this paraffin – as the burn heals switch to aqueous cream bp.(aqueous cream has a bunch of paraffin in it plus some moisturisers – look out for stuff that also contains sorbolene or glycerine as these help also). following this regime definitely will help your sunburn heal faster and peel less. aloe is good coz it remoisturises but that moisture can be quickly lost as the skin can’t contain fluids- this is a function of healthy skin. so put aloe on the paraffin on over the top as long as there is no broken skin this works great. if there is broken skin leave out the aloe – just paraffin. long term treatment to prevent scarring or loss of function due to contractures(as skin heals it can tighten reducing how much you can move – a skin graft is necessary to repair this). daily moisturiser, daily stretches – talk to a physio, pressure bandages like tubigrip, massaging the scar. this all reduce/flatten the scar and minimise the need for further treatment/surgery. http://www.doorone.com.au/xGS-Aqueous_Cream~NS-1~linkin_id-8009837 http://www.pharmacyonline.com.au/david-craig-paraffin-400g-p-1831.html hope this helps – let me know how you go and what similar brands/alternatives are available in your area email if you still have questions – send photos feedingthedogcustard@hotmail.com finally if you are really worried go to a hospital that has a burns unit or plastic surgeons

My suggestion is pack it with aloe gel and keep it moist and covered. Don’t let the aloe dry out in the indentation. Use only the best Aloe my suggestion Shtuff for bikers, their Aloe is concentrated & hydroponically grown & I swear by it. The link is http://www.shtuffforbikers.com/catalog/item/6388693/6210986.htm Don’t let the name fool you this is some seriously good aloe. If it’s very bad see your Dr & he’ll probably prescrbe silverdine cream. I have an uncle that mixed the 2 and it worked very well.
