Does harley target the female consumer because they focus more on styling, and accessories. Or because they are less knowledgeable about performance specs, horsepower, torque, etc?
All the harleys int he parking lot at work are ridden by girls, including the 2 ridleys.

Nah, i’ve got no problems getting girls, I’ve gotten plenty of girls before ever getting my sport bike…
If i wasn’t worried about performance/hp/torque/blah blah blah, I’d drive a yugo
Low seat height, easy and predictable power that isn’t threatening, brakes that aren’t aggressive.
Not to demean your coworkers, but HD machines don’t demand the same level of concentration as a sport bike most of the time.

Part of the reason girls ride HD is low seat height, 10% of new HD sales are to women.
Women also seem to be riding VStars, which also has a very low seat height.

First off, if you can show me a 106-year old design that is still being used on the road today selling for average purchase price of $15,000, then I’ll give you tickets to the HD drags where the turn <4.0 quarters (esp. the V-Rods)! A "less performance spec’d, lower HP/torque Sportster can lose a Ninja on extreme twisties where all that doesn’t matter, too. Finally, show me the number of early model Hondas compared to HD’s out riding every weekend; they last about forever! Anyhow, some women get tired of riding on the back of someone else’s bike and would rather ride their own (and at 1/4 the price for insurance, too). They’ve come a long way, baby…

They call them milwaukee vibrators for a reason. Besides seat height, predictable performance and awesome bike styling. The accessories and apparel do probably add to it. Harley has done well in focusing on that niche market. Can you really blame them?
I think this has shed alot of light on things. Obviously your upset your best attempts wont get a girls attention. Its more than obvious ranting about how fast and better your bike is, isn’t only annoying online. I thought some big bad harley rider must of given you a wedgie at some time in your life. If you know zero about motorcycles and decide you want a motorcycle harley is the name. Just like little kids with little knowledge of what makes a good burger will want McDonald’s every time. A lousy burger, a lousy motorcycle, but famous.
Harleys are beginner bikes by today’s standards. Low seat, low horsepower, low center of gravity….girl’s bike.

In addition to the low seat heights that are possible on this style of m/c, my guess is that many female riders were passengers on HDs first and decided they want to stop being passengers and get their own bike. When they buy a bike, they are going to get one like the guys they rode with…HD.
As I see it, if a new female rider showed up at the HD ride on her new Ninja 250, she might not "feel the love" she was looking to get and a HD would impress her friends.
Sports bike riders seems to have fewer passengers and when they do it for shorter rides. HD chicks seem to sit back and enjoy a nice 3 hour ride.

your incessant rants on HD’s is getting rather tired, ride what you have, and don’t forget the millions that company’s’ spend developing brand loyalty. with speed limits what they are do you think sport bikes are the correct choice for commuting back and forth to work and racing on the streets on the weekends I don’t know either, but a race course is the venue my friends who are serious about sport bikes choose. but like I said what you ride does not necessarily depict what of person you are, shiny side up and rubber side down is the only rule.
