I’m a female and I have facial piercings and also tattoos on my body, I also have knuckle tats so I can’t hide them. I’m wondering though if rocking out maybe one lip ring and dressing semi dressy/ punk will be advantageous to me, or if it will hurt my appearance. One of the points in her email to me was that you have to be able to relate with a broad customer base and letting the hardcore show a little might help me here… What do you think? Should I hide all piercings and dress like it’s an interview for any other store and do dress pants and a button down?
TO BIKERCHICK:
This is a question to find out what would be appropriate to wear to the interview. You do not have to attack my personal style. I didn’t say that "punk" has anything to do with Harley Davidson. I was simply asking the world if the look is acceptable for the part or not, NOT if punk defines Harley, chill out.
I can’t imagine the apparel you described wearing first would offend or turn away harley davidson customers.

What you describe is NOT typical for the majority of Harley owners/riders, I can tell you that. And the "punk" look is far from anything Harley people get in to. Good luck with that. ALL of the people I know who work on the apparel section of ANY Harley authorized retail stores, dress in NORMAL motorcycle riding type clothes – long jeans or pants, long sleeve shirts, and shoes or boots. I have yet to see anyone all punk or rocked out, and hope not to.

Harley is more upscale than you think and I would show up professional, not looking like a punk rocker on drugs. You might fit in better working at hot topic
