This video was shot at an overlook off US I-64 in Nelson County Virginia. It is on the Blue Ridge and the noise of the trucks marching on almost drowned my voice. I was on my way home from Staunton, the last stop on my itinerary for Saturday 4-11-09. It was an exciting day!
My first stop was in Orange,VA where I had the unexpected pleasure of meeting the owner,Mr.Waugh. He directed me to his museum on the top floor of the store. If you are a Harley fan, you should make the trip to this place! From early 1900 bicycles to a very rare Harley scooter from the 60′s. Not to mention the shelves filled with miniatures, toys, patriotic items etc. This is also a very well supplied/stocked store. You can go “Hawg” wild with their extensive collection of clothes and accesories for your lifestyle.
The people of the BestWestern Hotels that I visited to get my stamps were great and more so when I told them that I was a “card carrying member of Best Western” They were the Culpeper Inn of Rt.29, The Charlottesville Airport Inn &Suites at Ruckersville and the Staunton Inn, off Hwy 81 exit 222.
I also collected my stamp from Massanutten Waterpark off Rt 33. This was a place that was thumping even with the dreary weather, overcast and cold. It was an exciting place for families.
Two other standouts were Blue Ridge Powersports in Harrisonburg and Shenandoah Harley Davidson in Staunton. I wish I had started my trip counterclockwise, because they had had a Poker Run at Shennadoah Harley Davidson earlier that day. I was the first “Tourer “in most of the places I visited this week. Being so, the manager or perhaps owner of Shennadoah sent me home with an awoseme Harley t-shirt and other gifts. Now I will have to buy a 1200-hold the chrome, to go with it!
This is truly the mother state!
